About me

Hi everyone I am Meg Cordes-Doppee. I have been an informal educator for over 30 years. I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was 16, and saw one of my swim students complete an entire lap by herself, and I thought, wow she did that because I taught her how. I went on to college and got my degree in Biology/Zoology and my adviser asked what I wanted to do after graduation. I said I wanted to teach in an outdoor classroom. He introduced me to the Marine Science Institute, where I started teaching marine biology on a boat in the middle of San Francisco Bay. I eventually became Education director, and that led me to the City of Palo Alto, where I eventually became the Curator of Science Education at the Junior Museum and Zoo. While there, I received my MS Degree in Education. So many adventures, and opportunities later I became a mom, moved to the east coast, started a business and continue to teach informally in many different venues. I hope you enjoy these adventures. Keep on Discovering!
